Two-faced

Two Faced is a multimedia project consisting of a photography based artists’ book, a cover song, and a short dance film. This collective work explores the relationship between our outer and inner selves, more specifically, what aspects of our identity are performed for the public and what aspects are rooted in our own notion of who we feel we truly are. The extended isolation brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic has caused many people to confront parts of themselves they had hidden behind these performative acts, appearances, and gestures that came naturally with stepping into spaces where they could be observed and judged by others. This inspired us to look at the similarities, contradictions, and general complexities of how we as humans perceive ourselves, vs how we present ourselves to the world.

As you experience this piece, we invite you to think about your inner and outer self.
